Hi all,
It has been a while! And in all that time I haven't been able to use the van so.....
1967 Commer for sale - Leicestershire
Most have seen/ known about this van which was 1st registered Sept 5th 1967 in New Zealand where she was restored 2015/16 and then shipped back to the UK by myself a few years ago (Nov 2016) and registered in the UK 1st Feb 2017.
I did mention selling her earlier in the year, that didn't happen but after another summer of not being used it is just such a waste of a superb van that this time she has to go.
As mentioned on the thread, work was carried out by a chap in New Zealand who installed the only known air suspension, hence her being able to sit so low. Engine has been fully reconditioned/ rebuilt, overdrive gearbox has been rebuilt and installed under my ownership as well as some little extra bits such as fuel pump/ fuel lines etc.
She does have the start of some bubbling and rust spots which are in the photographs, so is not a pristine/ show van though from a few steps away looks incredible. However these wi want ti be addressed at some point.
Mechanically as I've mentioned all is done, a bit of tarting up and I don't doubt you'll be the envy of the shows. Pics were taken in April, latter pics with the bubbling taken yesterday.
She needs to be used. We got her for an excuse to get out and use her (third Commer van) but as happens, life was't so kind so has not been slept in! Set up more like a day van inside but with boards to slip over the base of the seats for the bed. I am looking for around £11k from the forum, as old vans do she owes me a hell of a lot more! I've half a day needed on her to rewire the battery/ leisure battery as these were incorrectly wired. The cut of switch position won't allow me to switch the batteries around as the difference in size means they do not fit in the tray, so just need to get that moved. Will sell at £10k as it is but hope to get the work done in the next 2 weeks. Van is Tax and MOT exempt.
