I have a 1962 Commer PA Autosleeper camper WITH SLIDING DOORS. It's two years older than the one in the Beaulieu Motor Museum and is quite possibly the oldest surviving sliding door model anywhere (unless of course you know different!). It has been restored at some point in its long history and needs doing again, although it is in perfectly usable condition. I've had it since 2008 and there is a picture of it at a 2009 Donington Park event here (you need to scroll down the page):

As you can see, whoever restored it has used 1965+ front-end parts. I have the earlier single front badge and rectangular 3-bar grille to return it to original. The original dateless registration was sold off in 1986 and is now on a Merc according to the DVLA, hence the current A-plate registration (which has now been on the van longer than the original registration was!). DVLA documents held to confirm. It has a 1600cc petrol engine. An overdrive gearbox has been fitted but the overdrive doesn't work.
I bought this nearly six years ago as a long-term rolling restoration project and since then the following has been done:
Engine converted to unleaded.
Electronic ignition fitted.
Electric fan fitted.
Stainless steel exhaust fitted.
Suspension done all round.
Brakes overhauled.
Radiator recored.
Starter motor reconditioned.
It developed an engine problem last year; starts and runs but cuts out under load. AA man said it needed a new carb but a new carb was fitted and made no difference. I'm told it's not the dreaded 'snakeskin' problem as the fuel filter is clean. It has sat in my garage for months now and I no longer have the time or inclination to persevere with it. I'm sure it would be much better with one of you guys who know what you're doing and would have it back on the road in no time.
It's MOT'd and taxed (tax is free of course). It previously lived in the Tilbury/Grays area of Essex (see Daytona's post of 1 July 2013):

I have moved from Grays to sunny Southend-on-Sea so the van is now here.
I have various spares including a spare windscreen. There's plenty more I could tell you but the easiest thing is to give me a ring and arrange to come and take a look. Remember, it's a 52 year old van! If someone fairly local comes to see it they could then post some current pictures and an independent appraisal on this forum.
