i take it thats the same as whats in Tigger, how do you find the engine copes with the larger body - and do you have an overdrive on Tigger?

Im asking because the perkins is getting on my nerves now and I am seriously considering swapping it out at some point

(however I have been offered one closer to home)

Hi Lee....surely you are not going to despair after all you have been through:(

well, how does it perform? I can only really compare it to Smurf really......Having put overdrive, webber carb , K&N and bigger bore exhaust on Smurf, I was really, really pleased with the performance..Smurf pulled great on hills and would (eventually) get upto 70mph on a motorway and could easily stay between 60 - 70..

With Tigger I have carried out the same mods and indeed the performance is loads better than when I first acquired him......although with the larger body the results are not quite so dramatic.i seem to keep up reasonably well with modern traffic in urban conditions and he will cruise quite happily at just over 60 on a motorway, although he will start to slow on inclines..has to be quite an incline before I need to drop to 3rd though....the overdrive is great as before on an incline he wouldnt pull in 4th, but in 3rd he would be screaming, however with overdrive engaged 3rd is just about right to keep at about 40mph...Of course, I have never driven a diesel to compare with...hope that helps a little:)

you dont want to be doing that now lee:( not after all the work/money you have put in on the perkins:I cant see a o/d box being much of a success with the perkins though:([?]

It's been done before but can't comment on how successful it was.
