1500 points gap.

New to the site and commer ownership. in the past had many VW's. I have a 1961 maidstone in mostly original condition,:) bought it from beachboy last year and after teething problems now creating traffic carnage around South Wales. Are the plugs and points gap the same as for the 1725 engine?

Rupert horten does'nt work!!

Don't know the answer but Welcome to the Madhouse Rupert!

Summer's here.....
Told you

Old dizzys tend to have worn baseplates/spindles and its best to set the gap on what it runs best, use manufacturer recommendation as a starting point and experiment.

Also modern plugs can run with greater spark aperature that the design capability back in the 60s so you can open that out a bit too

Cheers
