My biggest bug-bear with my van is the 12v fridge. We have a split relay, so the fridge chills whilst we are driving. We parked up at midday yesterday afternoon at the campsite and i hooked the van up to the 240v. This powers up the battery charger that charges the leisure battery that powers the fridge. By 9 last night the leisure battery was flat. If I get one of them adapters with a 12v output...would this run the fridge? The adapter I mean is one of them you use round the house that have the option of 3,6,9 and 12v. Any other suggestions? We could use the gas, but don't want to run out and risk having no fry up in the morning?

I did see your mod Panky. Would it work on a 2 way fridge? And is there a thernostat involved?
I wouldn't worry about running out of gas, the fridge uses very little and is very efficient. However, you must park on the level for it to work properly.

That's all a three way fridge is, just another element and no thermostat involved
I did go a bit over the top with the element I think, a 90w is probably enough.

There is a 7amp draw by the fridge, and have seen a 12v 7amp ac to dc power supply. Would this do while I get the 240 conversion done?
Well...I bought a laptop power pack, 12v 10amp. Wired it in and it works!
