The rear plate holder had taken a bash, cracked in a couple of places and a few bits missing. Could probably have fixed it, but I’m learning enough new skills as it is without needing to learn fibreglass ! So I set about remaking it out of steel. Happy with the outcome, it’s SLIGHTLY bigger...

I’ve got an English wheel i can use to pre stretch if i bead roll, I have the make it kustom (YouTube) profiler so would make a profile off the vehicle using a block of filler and transfer it onto 5mm steel to put in the machine. For what Martin charges for door bottoms I’d probably be better...

Metal shaping is quite simple, it’s just realising and working out what happens elsewhere when you tweak something. I’m probably 150+ hours of work into 1...

engine turns over but doesn't start, have got some new fuel hose and I'll replace that and blow the tank outlet through as I think its blocked. Not currently got spark either so I'll check all the fuses, give the points etc a clean. HIF carb is in the garage, I'll modify the manifold to fit that...

set about the back door, knew it was completely rotten. got it all apart, unfortunately smashed the handle/lock getting it apart, the skin is ok. I've ordered some larch to rebuild with. Im aware I can get hold of the handle/lock from New Zealand, I might remake the recess out of steel though...
