Bit the bullet and ordered a WOSP last week, should be here tomorrow. Interesting in the online information though - guessing I can just wire it up with a single cable as per the old inertia type starter motor if it has the external link cable - always up for an easy life :)...

Great thanks - isn’t the starter wire the trigger wire? Can’t really remember what it look like in there Hate wiring :) guess would like to clean it all up so single long cable from battery to starter, trigger/ignition wire to starter solenoid and then one thick cable from the alternator back...

Just never swapped one - not sure how easy it is and if can be done in situ

Keep thinking of swapping mine - I’ve got an alloy hunter engine but was a single carb (now single su) so got the worst camshaft it could have. Sure a swap out would see 15-20 HP more from the 75 atm

Back on this - finally my old inertia starter packed up, been running quite high compression at 190 due to a very skimmed head, think it had enough finally! Now swapped to a rebuilt less skimmed head and looking to replace the starter. So the high torque stuff I guess are only pre engaged type...

Lovely job, same as I got and fairly straight forward except I have an alloy tank so had to drop it down 20mm. I also went for the coach built version which is about 200mm longer at the back so I could open the doors with the trailer or a bike rack on

I think the old head is running at such high compression and the engine was put together in a shop so was never re-torqued - busy weekend coming up. Off to Halfords for a new torque wrench, main issue is going to find the time to drive it 300 or so miles and then re-torque it up. It's a copper...

Cheers - Haha no - I was hoping to on this head but blew the head gasket. I think the old head had issues and had been welded in the past so whacking this one on. Meant to be going to France next Friday, might be a case of taking the car and a tent instead :(

Hi all, does anyone know if these old skool style exhaust gadgets go on a certain way round? One side is slightly more dimpled than the other but apart from that I can’t see much difference. Cheers Jim

In this weather been driving with the heater on on long runs! Down in Suffolk atm. Had a motor bike rad arrived to strap to the front to take the edge off :) combined with flipping the scoop it’ll be perfect

If you get the long one for a coach built it makes it easier to open the rear doors with a trailer on
