Welcome to the forum. That 2.3 certainly shifts - I’ve watched every video and has been a lot of engineering work to Get it going. There’s also a Zetec conversion that seemed easier - not sure how that’s going currently. I’m still waiting for the first electric conversion! Best of luck

I’ve probably asked before but wondering if it’s possible to change the cam with the engine still in the van? I’ve a short block with a better cam in but rather not switch the engines I can help it. Thanks as always

Jenolite or Kurust work well for me

They are separate but if it’s been dropped or poked it could be broken overall I guess. Also if the hands missing and can’t be seen it could maybe be inside jamming the other one? All speculation though

That’s the way to do it, cracking work. I need to do similar where the van got run down a wall. What are those things you welded on?

No difference - I’ve electronic ignition on mine, the coil is the trigger for the revs. Just make sure it’s for a 4 cylinder engine though some have a switch you can adjust for different cylinders numbers

Very easy to wire up - one wire goes to the negative on the coil, One to a switched ignition feed (live when ignition is one) and the final wire is a ground - i.e. attaches to the body anywhere. Probably need another live from the light circuit to illuminate it at night which you could take off...

Might just need the hose clamps tightening up a little before replacing everything. If you fire it up - it’ll be fine if there’s water in it - and carefully check for where the leak(s) are coming from. Remember there a metal fan spinning round that will take a finger of or strap anything loose...
