Well the complete clutch with bearing came from Speedy with the roller bearing release jobbing. It fits the fork really well but the retaining clips from the Old graphite bearing won't fit. Looking on Sunbeam service manual suggests some circular spring clips part 16...

After trawling the interweb I think there should be a couple of clips to hold the carrier and I will get a pair. Actually, once fitted there isn't much of a gap between the bearing and diaphragm spring so the carrier can't actually move far anyway...

One concern though is new bearing and carrier. Old carrier had round trunnion and clips to hold it in place. However the new bearing carrier doesn't have fully round trunnion and clips won't fit. Should there be some sort of retainer or does it rely on clutch plate stopping carrier moving...

Just ordered new clutch from Speedy - plate, cover and roller bearing £98 plus vat. Bargain really at the price of two tanks of fuel!

Son Ben and I dropped the geatbox last night and the graphite bearing has been ground up and spread around the bellhousing. Also the thrust plate on the diaphragm spring is very loose so not sure which was cause and which was effect. Need a new cover plate and bearing at least...

Managed to get home without the AA and will investigate the clutch this week....
