    That's it... It's Happening...

Before you change the coil check the lead from the coil to the dizzy, Mine was shorting onto the top hose from a 'spark booster' lump the lead went through. Actually caused it to cut out completely sometimes completely randomly, and in hindsight had some 'choked feelings' you describe and...

    Epic Holiday Planning

Go for it:p:p Take some spares and give the van lots of TLC before you go and just take it easy. We did a 600 mile trip to the Commerfest and just limited it to 1 1/2 to 2 hours of driving between stops and taking it easy. What about the belgian guys from commerfest (I know they did most of...

    Air Filter and Brakes

This fitted a treat:D, better than some of the stuff I have bought that are meant to be a replacement part[}:)] (like the bottom radiator hose I just fitted at the same time). Highly reccomend this to anyone else with the weber conversion struggling to keep the air housing on:p:p (that doesn't...

    Air Filter and Brakes

Commerracer, I don't have any accurate calipers. However in looking on the carb post by Enigma I found the spec for the carb. Seems to give a external diameter of 52mm for the air intake. Height appears to be 18mm. The other part is the standard air filter link for the commer (I got it from...

    Weber part 100

Here is the manual I got in the paperwork for our van. I just set it to what sounds like an OK tick over and then screw in the mixture screw until it starts to die then screw it out till it doesn't change the rev s anymore then in a little bit. Seems to work. I think there is a magic fuel to...

    overheating issue?

I never managed to find a new temperature sender to match the guage when I snapped the spade end of the other when replacing the stop light switch. Never had any overheating porblems before the change so was defo the sender vs guage ciompatibility (it just rose straight off the scale even...

    Back of the garage

New MOT nice:p. We had an advisory on the steering idler a couple of years ago. Speedies do the bushes and the pin and the job was no probelm expet for extracting the old pin. It took some blow torch action and a bearing press.;)

    Air Filter and Brakes

Just two quick questions:D. I think I need to either replace or refurbish my Brake master cylinder (I saw the MOT man looking at it and sniffing the grime on his fingers), no advisory but there is the possibility of some of it leaking very slightly (the reservoir is still topped up). Looked on...

Yep, only 5 or 10 min walk from the site. ;) Actually went twice as the platform ticket is only £2.50 and Stanley loved just charging round the engine shed etc and watching the trains come in and out.:D

Not quite as planned yesterday[B)] Lovely weather so thought we would go out for a spin. Coaxed into life and runing fine but then died after going to pull away (out on the road! Why not on the drive[V]). Would start intermittently but than die again completely randomly i.e might be straight...

    My Betsy Autosleeper

If you want to check if it is the switch pull one of the wires of the switch, if they go out it is the switch if they stay on it must be a short (I think). Oh yeh and don't snap your temperature sender off as our wire ran close and I snagged it and snapped the top off whcih I am still tryijng...

    My Betsy Autosleeper

Had exactly the same thing with our brake lights[}:)]. Flushing out the switch sorted it for the MOT:p (re-test, they stuck on at the test centre first time) but started sticking again few weeks later so definately best just to get a new switch, Speedies does them. If you top up the resevoir...

SPOTTED: Blue Commer Van in shropshire

We are on holiday there at the mo but our blue van is at home. Did see a red and white one bombing eastbound on the M40 on Friday (was it the Duke? only got a glimpse in the rearview mirror. Also we thought we saw a coachbuilt parked up near Ironbridge with a purple paint job but couldn't stop??

Been really busy (work and Scout Camp) but managed to get a five day break away in the van just before, just had the chance to upload the photos. Nice site right next to the Bluebell Railway called Wo Wo. Each site has a large fire circle and there is a huge central marquee they run events in...

    Baby seats

We had to lengthen the belt to go round the rear facing seat, it is now uber long for the front facing seat but still works fine:p. Our lap belt is just fixed to the existing seatbelt mounts on the top of the engine bay. There is a post somewhere about the lengtheing of the belts, the company...
