    2700HP

More on this project...... Today, having repaired the stressed skin bodywork to stiffen it up, rebuilt both transmissions and removed both engines, we lifted it off its bogies and put it on stands so we can refurbish the bogies, which haven't had much attention for the last 50 years/ 1/2...

Advice re parts/repairs for Gladys please

In this link, https://forum.commervanfan.co.uk/threads/jennings-restoration.7437/page-16#post-146407 the 3rd pic is of the repair sleeve slipped over some wet epoxy resin on the drive flange. It's only a very thin stainless sleeve and you use the same size oil seal. You only need a sleeve if...

Advice re parts/repairs for Gladys please

I think I can help with 5 and 6 Pinion oil seal. Take a look at this link. https://forum.commervanfan.co.uk/threads/rear-diff-gasket.8732/#post-148127 The oil seal is just a generic item obtainable from any bearing supplier online by using the dimensions in the link. I use Simply bearings or...

What would you think if you bought one of these?

Should have said the three points the weight hangs from are 1ft, 2ft, and 3ft from the fulcrum, which is a large hex bolt welded to the end of the bar. And it wasn't my torque wrench actually, but I did need to be confident in it :)

What would you think if you bought one of these?

Yes, but that's basically the point. If they can't get the printed scale right, you wouldn't have much confidence in the engineering. And yes, you do need confidence in the engineering.

What would you think if you bought one of these?

I've tested and calibrated it, surprisingly it is accurate and reliable.

    2024

Thanks Panky. Well..... We're 40 years on from 1984 and the although the prospect of having a listening device in your house reporting back to big brother has come true (although as I type, it's still voluntary), we haven't (yet) finished destroying our home planet, so there's hope still. Peace...

    2nd Lockdown Project

Sold the old Volvo with 385K on the clock to an 850 enthusiast, and the 205 is now our daily driver. It's a truly crackin' little motor. Lovin' it. Ran it for a month on diesel siphoned out of the Volvo. Only downside has been that the Alternator packed up. Something to do with...

    Chough Hunting

Time for one of our irregular trips down to Cornwall. First stop Treen Car Park. It's next to the camp site, which is shut for the winter, but there are public loos and a pub. And evening sunshine. One other van in residence, and good beer at the pub, although their meals are very expensive...
