    Stuck handbrake ?

If it's a seized handbrake cable take a look at this thread https://forum.commervanfan.co.uk/threads/stiff-handbrake-cable.9784/ But don't use the cable if it has broken strands at either end.

    Photo problem?

Yes me too. I now have to resize pics to get under the size limit. It would be good to know what the limit is.

    Out and About

Nice trip to Wales over Easter week. Two nights at Newgale beach, up the coast to Aberystwyth Rugby club. A trip on the Vale of Rheidol railway. Here we are at a new eco campsite near Borth. Getting there was an adventure in itself...... And this is at the nature reserve on the Dovey...

..........until........... Head gasket failed again. The van went like a dream all around Wales, pulling like a train up some serious hills. Mushroom cloud of smoke just as we were reversing into our drive. Sorry neighbours! At least it could have been worse.......didn't need the flat...

The colour scheme is the same as when we bought it. What the colour is sprayed on is very, very, different. Some of the filler was 1 1/2 inches thick! I think the van is more or less done now...........until...........

But I'm teasing, of course. Beryl is back from paint, and I've refitted all the bits and pieces...... The cab hasn't been painted this time. Still needs a new step at the back. I'll see if I can get one folded up from aluminium checker plate off eBay. So we're ready to go again. :)

So now here are the photos you've all been waiting for........ Here's one of the old banjos. You can just see the hole on the far side that's been squashed flat. Not quite completely blocked, but not far to go. Of course the other disadvantage of banjos made of cheese is that the tubes break...

In other news, recently I've been having some trouble bleeding the fuel system by manually operating the priming handle on the fuel lift pump. Like the bubbles just weren't moving through the translucent pipe. The special little banjos on top of the injectors are the original ones made of cast...

1725 exhaust manifold seal - Anyone know of a source or compatible replacement?

Buy a 6x50mm stainless rigging ring on eBay then cut and shut it to fit with the TIG welder. Yes I know it's round section, but it should seal OK when tightened up. Just a suggestion

For a long time, I've wanted to replace the lower panels of the coachbuilt rear of the van. Out of the factory, the panels were 1.2mm Aluminium, but the drivers side and half of the rear were 0.5mm (thin enough to wrap a turkey:oops:), as a result of a shunt back in the distant past. Added to...

    2700HP

We've been repairing another broken transmission. This time an 1800 hp four speed automatic gearbox controlled by a hydraulic digital computer. Here's the top going back on. Carefully! The torque converter fits on this end. Soon we will have to test it. Not quite sure how at the moment...

    LDV brake shoes.

I bought a set of brake shoes on eBay advertised as suitable for Commer PB fronts, but in fact LDV (Sherpa) rears. The price was really good at £25 a set, and a genuine AP product. It wasn't till I had fitted them that I found out that the bottom spring hole was different, but everything else...
