thanks panky, have had quite a few different jobs-all very hands on so i'll give pretty much anything a go.(still mistakes to be made i'm sure but thats the learning process for you. The first mistake i made was to try and weld too much in one go(won't do that again).

have not had much of a chance to use welder as i need to sort out other bits before i can do anything, never used these small bottles before as when i've been welding its always work related(will ask my boss if i can grab a bottle and guage off him).

the guy i bought my van off had this as well,i did like it but it was already sold.

especially when you leave it on and the bloody gas runs away and hides-can understand why bosses over the years get knarked off when someone has lefted the gas on!! not me sir.

i dont know a thing about body work, dont know about sills and stuff. have been looking at pics of replacement by woolfy to try and see whats going on-still muddling through(should be in there now as i did make monday nights commer night(blues show radio two as well-perfect.

when all is clean & treated etc,will temp re-fit roof section,then tack gutter back in place & then try to work out the xtra piece needed to fill gap between gutter and roof, inch or so & then try and offer up the bit that goes over wiper arms and joins inside of roof.

i did that quite a while ago now,probably have not done correctly. idid take the step off in two bits and then welded it back together. where the sill went to a pillar and carried on to middle sill it was mostly rusted away so i sort of just chopped it out,note-this kind of work is new to me.

cool, i shall purchase one at w/end. when i tried a few weeks ago i broke 3 drills on 2 holes and i thought na this aint no good!
