Slow progress but happy progress! I have been applying thin layers of filler for the last 2 nights and have been able to do a few more tonight. A good sanding in-between each coat of filler until it felt smooth from every direction and the dips disappeared. Curve feels pretty good to my hands...

Unfortunately I will not make it. Gutted. I just couldn't bodge the van roadworthy once I started :-(

Interestingly after removing the fibreglass filler from the previous bodge, I decided to give the new uneven welds a coat of fibreglass filler due to the lack of there being any increase in rust / rot in the areas that were bodged. then top off with normal filler. A quick search on the internet...

My son spotted a lime green Commer earlier at the petrol station and was asking if I knew who it belonged to. Any ideas?

Would anyone be so kind to share with me the method for removing the rear glass and rubbers from the rear doors? Rubbers are perished and leave black streaks down the paintwork so time for a change!

Thanks Panky. Yeah was wondering that. I usually spread it everywhere and then sand back to apply filler or primer. My intention being for it to remain in any nooks and crannies. Might be completely wrong?!?! But hey, I have metal where there was holes :-)

Back on it! First rear door: Couldn't believe the thickness of filler on the door. Looking forward to getting the front inner and outer door repairs off Mr Maltas so I can just line up, cut, weld and done.

Erm.... Looks that way :-( just waiting for a couple of panels from Mr maltas ;-) Anybody know what thickness sheet steel I should repair the floor with?

So, in for a penny, in for a pound :confused: Removed all grills, lights etc today (only windscreen and rubber left in) Started cleaning up the cab doors which were neglected last time and have ordered new inner and outer panels. Time to fetch the welder from storage.....
