    Well today we had sunshine in Melbourne !! Went to the car wash, blasted the sump area, got home and it was soaked in oil..so had to clean it again and start it for a about 3 minutes and then i can see the oil running down the front of the sump.. Panky, spot on !!! I think its pouring out...

    I have all the manuals tks. None of them show any kind of oil seal on the timing chain cover, hence my question. No mention is made in any manual fo a timing chain Cover Seal for the crank / harmonic balancer. Its freezing cold here and dark at 5pm, so no time to investigate.....

    Went for a drive this morning. It needs tyres badly...BUT there is oil dripping at the front of the engine. Looks like the harmonic balancer seal is leaking. Hope its like a normal engine, where we just insert a new seat ??? A few more pics.

    My local mechanic has given us on trying to do an engine swap on my commer, on the basis of: 1) he does not have a drive on hoist to lift it. He only has a 2 post, with the swing out arms. 2) he is adamant that the engine cannot be lifted out from the inside. Appreciate comments on point 1)...
