Commer pb breaking.

Guys, as you know, Betty had some engine issues, this has now led me down the slippery slope of owing another Commer.

The issue I have is it’s pretty rotten, in a very bad way to the point where welding would cost I think minimum 8-10k to restore her.

I originally got it for the engine as it runs sweet, I’ve since then managed to source a short block and another Su carb with the manifold.


So I have a lot of spare parts laying around and if any of you need anything feel free to get in touch and I’ll tell you what I have spare.

Happy to do videos on what’s app to show the state of things as some bits are in good condition but others are not so much.


Some of the bits have already been snapped up by other members who knew I was getting the van.

its not that same red one that was up for breaking for ages no, its a different one that had been stored in a workshop for a good few years, the interior is already pretty much all gone and has people wanting it. I will be back at the van tomorrow daytime so if you give me a call I can show you whats left, Dashboard and stuff is still available but 2 of the 3 seats have been snapped up so ive only got the seat that sits on the engine cover left. Then in the rear it was already stripped minus a few bits of wood which somebody else has already reserved.
 
The van is fairly well known I believe it was called Rockin Robin and Martin may have done the engine rebuild on it a good few years ago, its got a weber carb on it atm.
 
Ah no worries. I was mainly wondering about the seats. I’m trying to find the ones that fold flat but aren’t a bench seat.

yeah this doesnt have any of that in, the one im turning into the pizza van had a bench version but ive already shifted all that stuff. Good luck with the hunt!
 
That's so sad, it was a gorgeous van at one point. But at least it is helping others to stay on the road.
Here it is in 2015. Things can change very quickly

Yeah its clearly been looked after engine wise, You can tell its been looked after well over the years mainly as its not got hardly any filler in it, sadly its just rotted away, I will get some good pictures tomorrow of all the rot so you can really see the extent of it. Its basically gaffer taped together all along the top of the drivers side roof and under some of the windows rear quarters etc

I’ll be using them I’m pretty sure myself but I’ll let you know if I don’t. Mine are a bit rotten on the bottoms on Betty and these ones are in pretty good condition.
