Fitting PB exhaust - help please

I am trying to fit a new exhaust to Brian, my 1973 PB Autosleeper. The front pipe of the old one and the flange which bolts to the manifold came off as one piece, probablyafter being welded together as part of a repair some years ago. Can anyone help me source a new flange or know someone who could make one?

Hi Rod and welcome along :)
Is it the flared piece on the end of the downpipe or the section on the manifold where it clamps together? If it's the downpipe then Martin Maltas of Commer Van Spares may be able to help as he was making them.
He's not supplying mechanical bits now, just panels, but he might still be doing exhausts.

Hi and welcome. If Martin still makes the exhaust then consider getting the whole thing, manifold and exhaust. Stainless steel and very well priced. I got the manifold and then the exhaust at a later date and ended up having a right kerfuffle fitting it. I cut the pipe wrong and had to wield another bit on making the bends in slightly different ways. Ended up routing it behind gearbox and had to take the water tank off as it got in the way of the silencer. Anyway all I’m saying is if I had bought the complete system it probably would’ve been a better original fit. My incompetence wouldn’t have helped either lol.

Thanks Panky. Yes I bought a full exhaust in 3 sections from Martin. It's the part which joins the flared end of the pipe to the manifold I need. Martin does not have this piece and suggested I try the forum.

It sounds like the end of the manifold has snapped off - could you post a photo of what has happened pease.

That's been well and truly bodged. The flange on the down pipe should be a slide fit over the pipe and a sealing ring fitted over the end of the downpipe to mate with the chamfer in the manifold, try cleaning the soot and crap off the manifold and see what state the sealing area is in. If it's OK then you will need a new down pipe, flange and sealing ring and it should hopefully all re-assemble fine with a bit of paste.
If you can post another pic once the manifold has been cleaned, I'm assuming the dead black bits in your picture are shadows and not big bits missing from the manifold.
Ask Tim (commeracer) if he's got a spare flange, he does a lot of exhaust modifications so he might have one in his many boxes of bits.
