Will Jennings turn over....

Looking to see if I can get Jennings to crank over this week after its 11 year tenure outside our house. Plugs came out quite easily but a rookie error meant I couldn't put a little oil down the bores, a job for tommorow. It hasn't currently got its carb on and sports just the manifold. Got a couple of questions the first being is the power supply to the fuel pump easily located (Jennings Roadranger)?? Second question refers to the picture attached, hopefully..!! Looks like a valve of some type but after spraying with a can of "turn yer *******" it has remained steadfastly unturnable. Many thanks for any hints and tip, Guy

That's the heater valve to turn off the heater for the summer. If you do succeed in turning it, it will most likely leak. Mine did. Best leave it alone.

I added a proper heater control valve in the cab which does the same job and you don't have to open the engine hatch every time!

Hi Guy
The tap is the Heater valve and probably best left where it is. Fuel pump is normally a mechanical one on the side of the engine near the oil filter. If someone has fitted a lekky one then it's anyone's guess where it's fed from, a case of tracing wires I'm afraid.

Thank you very much folks, top info. Popping back to put some oil down the bores today to let soak in. Was hoping to turn the engine over by hand before connecting it up to the battery but the boss on the crankshaft pulley is not nut shaped. Looking at it I`m thinking it is for a cranking handle??
Perhaps a small amount of TNT down one of the bores may get things moving...:) :)

There is a hex on the crank handle nut but you need a deep socket or ring spanner to get on it.
I guess you haven't got a crank handle

I managed to get a a metal rod into the grooves and turned crank that way. Bit of a fiddle and caught knuckles on radiator. Mine wasn’t seized though. I made the mistake of turning off heater tap and it did weep for a bit. Worse thing was my engine overheated. Probably because my rad is full of crud.

Thanks for all the tips. I`m back over to the unit tomorrow with a mate to see if things are moving by giving it a nudge whist in a high gear. It could well not be seized and if so have a couple of batteries just to the engine spinning over with the plugs out. Will also dig out my compression tester to see where we are with that. As for the crank handle I can`t remember, will check inside. Will look closer at the crankshaft pulley set up and perhaps make a plan if all else fails..!!
