Yep, so, I'm thinking I should like to get Jessie (1971 PB) sorted and wondered who provides such services? I just have little time. She has side wood attached externally (so bolt holes to fill) ... some rust in usual places and a paint brush job to get shot of. Would need to check for underneath soundness too. Thinking of a refurb on the pop up too. Am wondering if it's worth my while. Can get her up to Vanshack Ltd (who are relatively handy) but they are VW boys!

I popped mine into a recommended bodyshop and told me a complete respray could be any price depending on what the find etc. Advice was if price is an issue, as it could cost thousands, do the bits that need doing (door sills and some other bad bits) and enjoy pootling about in it. And bring it back in when the next bits worsen. I know to catch things before they get too bad etc. It all depends on budget and how much time you don’t want to use it. I have scraped back the bubbles I have seen and treated them before the rust worm eats through. Not sure if I’m just talking rubbish but someone here will know lol

Absolutely. Although we'd all like a nice shiny van, it's not about the paint, but much more to do with the metalwork underneath and how weatherproof it all is. I've seen too many smart resprays with the shiny paint bubbling again after just months.
