Wedding!

Hi,
I am getting married in August this year and I would really like to go to my wedding in a Commer van. My Granddad and I used to race whippets all the country together in his van and I had some of the best times in it. So many fond memories, unfortunately both are no longer with me. I live in the Kent area and would like to know if anyone knows any Commer vans and drivers that I could hire to chauffeur me to my wedding?

What a lovely idea and so fitting to the memory of your Granddad, I know he would approve:) I'm afraid I cant help personally as I'm at the other end of the country nut hopefully someone will come along and help you out - you could also ask on the facebook group 'I Love Commer Campers'. I don't frequent FB myself but it's worth an ask, you never know someone might come along with a Commer AND a whippet;)

Unfortunately I am even further away in Scotland But my postbus would have been perfect. I am a professional Wedding supplier and DJ. My sister ever has a whippet. Hope you get a van.:):):)
 
There are vans further south, but not sure what is "hired" out... Are you wanting a driver etc, or more of a do it yourself. That might turn out to be easier...
 
Thank you for your help. I remember one of our whippets moved the van once when I tied them to the bonnet to relax on a blanket. It was a good few feet trying to get to the track!
There is a company close by in Faversham but they are now selling. I've been told categorically No, I am not allowed to buy one?!?! I thought it was an investment opportunity.
I would like someone to drive it for me, which I know will be tricky .
 
Think about how much it costs to hold a wedding.

A van is only a small percentage of that. I think you're onto something with the investment opportunity thing.
