1970 PB Autosleeper

I took these tonight.

Her previous owner painted everything himself.

Outside the paintwork is faded and there are a few smears.

Inside he painted everything grey. To match the carpet.
He left us some paint and it was a primer so we painted inside. Seems it wasn't a primer and the paint is flaking.
A long weekend and inside she could be any colour you like.

The cushions are new foam. Very comfy bed.

No electric apart from lights which run off a leisure battery

No running water. The sink is there. Pump not wired up. We took out the old gas pipes. We use a camping stove so we can take it outside on nice days.

This is not in any way a show van. But she's great to camp in.

Mechanically she's just passed another MOT. Starts with a cough and runs ok.

First year we had her we went round the Highlands and Islands but for the last four years we go camping nearby, never had any problems.

The temperature gauge runs hot. Right up to the red and the horn doesn't work. There's a switch on the dash for the horn.

If there's anything anyone wants to know please ask.

Hope to get a realistic price at the weekend.

I remember that trip we were half way to Edinburgh before we realised.
Sorry you are selling, We will be at St Mary's Loch on Saturday but will be in Jim this year not Gladys,

Hi Christine, sorry to hear your selling your van. I know exactly how heart breaking it it to make that final decision, I'm in the process of selling my van. Make sure you keep an eye out for time wasters. Looks like your selling a good tidy van.....good luck.

Hi Christine

I'm new to this site but have longed for a Commer van for years.

The extended roof on Christine looks quite low, could you tell me the max headroom when the roof is down and up and also PM the price?

Many thanks

Dave

In response to question I've received here's some more information on Buttercup.

We bought her from someone who bought her to sell on.

The things we have done in the five years we've had her are:-

New brake cylinders and brake master cylinder.
Two new tyres
Had underneath welded and sealed
New manifold gasket
New radiator hoses
New battery

Just been serviced and MOT, no advisories. She drives better than ever once heated up. Now trundles along at 50 with more to give.

Inside,

New cushions, med density foam, fire retarded
Curtains with loads of spare material
New lights in seating area
Leisure battery for lights

No fridge or cooker bur space there, sink and tap but not connected

One hammock with small tare.

Some internal wood needs replaced and inside needs sanded and painted

I will get more photos

Ok thanks. Could you tell me what engine size?
Petrol/diesel?
Also is she automatic or manual with overdrive?
Thanks for the info so far !

Just put Buttercup on E-bay

Selling her is like finding a new home for a pet. It's torture showing people round.

So she has to go now, before my next holiday, or I will just load her up and have to try next year.

Drove myself mental searching last night but nothing came up, she's there today.

No bids loads of people have her on watch and I'm going to be answering a lot of questions I think.
