can you help me about a question, in that auction, it says it is a 1972 model. But it was first registered 21st May 1973, so I need to find out whether it was built prior to 31st December 1972 so that I can claim VED exemption, how do i go about it?

Try the rootes car clubs website, they have access to some files. Chances are, that it may have been sent to the coachbuilders before registering and have been manufacturered in '72.
 
i think someone else asked this and i advised them to maybe try renault in dunstable? i could dig out some details if you want... i'm sure martin's right aswell about the rootes club access to the old files.

i was hoping my van was pre-72, since it was ex-raf, reg'd '77, but manufacture was aug 76, so the way things stand no luck. nice to know your vehicle's d.o.b. tho!
