Wow Commer Walk Thru - home brew camper

How bizarre the front end looks very walk thru esque? Please accept my apologies oh Commer faithful for posting yet another Dodge which is not a Commer.

No apologies needed, it's interesting and quirky - what does that sound like;)

I bet the chassis is the same as a walk thru. Learning new stuff all the time. The update to the Commer PB i.e spacevan was in fact built by Renault not Chrysler as I previously thought. Very interesting.

Great idea Hubbell to leave everything behind, it's something I've considered myself. This looks like a good van, would be nice to have an mot though.

Chrysler sold the Rootes vehicle build rights (Dodge) to Peugeot in 78 and then about 12 months later it changed to Talbot and then in 1980 the Dodge brand was bought by Renault and so the Commer PB spacevan was introduced by Renault. I reckon they also started to re manufacture the walk thru and re boxed i as the Dodge 50. I also think they were always made in the same factory the whole time right from Rootes in the 60s down to Renault in the 80s the whole manufacturing process being subsidised by the government at the time. I might be wrong so I stand to be corrected!

Yeah not leave everything behind just the modern day complications which didn't exist 3o years ago. I'm planning on taking my van over to Spain next year and do a 3 week tour sailing from Portsmouth to Bilbao. That should scratch my travelling itch!

Sounds great:cool:
Sorted the engine out yet? better get a move on if you haven't;)
