whats the red light on left of dash

I might sound like a muppet but what is the small red light on the left of the dash on a 75 pb camper i have right oil but i'm worried about oil pressure.

does it go out once you start the engine?

no it normally does but didn't today

check fan belt,alternator needs adjusting,checking or replacing

just been out to mine,the only red light on the left of my dash,is below hazard switch.is yours right hand drive?

my r/h/s brake light stayed on could be an electrical fault. as long as it's not oil pressure it's ok

Its the ignition light, mine flickers until i press the brake pedal, so i must have a short or bad earth on the circuit!

Stick a meter across your battery and when the engines running it should be showing 14+ volts indicating the charging circuits working. Mines still charging fine, so i still use her till i can get the light sorted!
