Well this bloke came into my shop the other day...

Hello Strangers, missed me?[:X]

Sold a very short length of narrow gauge rail to a chap who wanted it as a forming anvil for complicated bodywork fabricating... well, had to ask..... turns out he's got a Glendale which he is now selling so have offered to pass on the below details on 'ere in case anyone tempted...

We have a Glendale that we might want to sell as we have not really used it.

Details of "Snowdrop" the Glendale.
Dodge Commer (but with the Commer grill)
4 Berth.
3 forward seats with belts.
2 single beds lower ( or a big double VERY relaxing when you sleep on that formation)
large sleeping area over the cab but a bit tight for adults.
Toilet cubical
oven with grill and two burners.
2 way fridge 12v and gas.
converted to 240v with six plug sockets. ( I think)
re-upholstered a few years ago
fitted with a water tank and purifier with electric operated tap.
2 calor gas bottles.
The van is water tight.
Mechanical.....

Converted to run on unleaded. (new valve seats etc)
electronic distributor
weber carb.
wheels and tyres nearly new.
had a new clutch assemble last year (500miles ago ish)
the door bottoms have been replaced and new window felts fitted.
the mot is until June 2013.
the camper is fully serviced
new heater hoses fitted
new washer bottle fitted
brakes are ok
king pins are ok
new anti roll bar links fitted
new fuel hoses and filler pipe fitted
gearbox and axle are quite and changes firm.
all axle oils and gearbox oils plus antifreeze all changed.
new drive belts.
rear axle brake pipes renewed and brake fluid changed.
clutch fluid renewed
I think i have covered most things. Basically I have done quite a bit to it. as I do not do breaking down.
All the dodgy wiring has been put right as well and protective covering added.
The mileage is 45k and i believe that to be true.

It could do with the front valance left hand corner sorting. I have 3 litres of paint to cover the repainting of the cab
when that part is done. The doors have been painted and 3 litres of brown wax put into the insides ( it still drips out on a warm day now)

We have spent £4800 buying and doing the bits. ( no labour costs as I did it)
It drives as it should and should go for years before anything needs doing as the chassis is all ok.

If you know of anyone who wants to have a look at it then here are my details.
mobile 07973116885
home 0161 370 8358. ( Manchester)

I am away in the lakes and then down to London next week.

Thanks Dave

Ps I do not appear to have any photos at the moment. I will get some together and send them.
the van is white and a very light green cab and side colours

All o.k. thanks, just been busy upping some sticks and relocating - really must get round to posting photos of Bessie's graceful piggy back from Pembrokeshire up to Mid Wales. She now nestles in a friend's drive within the sight of the Talyllyn Railway. Just trying to figure out when chance will arise to get a-fixing and get her back on the road again - but she is still with me :)

Hope all well with all here xx

Hiya Kes, so good to hear from you:D and it's great to hear that plans are still afoot to get Bessie sorted out - Kes without Bessie - unthinkable;)

How refreshing

Cheers me dears - looking forward to getting her sorted. Still reckon a line up at Talyllyn Wharf station needs doing if anyone wanting to come and play garden railways for the day [8D]

Something a little like this only with Commers...
