Ever lost one of these and tried to get a new one?
The little rubber wedge that acts as a bump-stop for the cab doors. Bonnie is missing hers but I know they are unobtainable so I had a thought - Sugru, a mold-able air curing rubber compound, Mike (Rupert Horten) suggested using it for repairing quarterlight seals but there are loads of other things it can be used for.
First get yourself something that the Sugru wont stick to and drill a hole in it the same size as the locating hole on the van
I bunged an original wedge in and drew around it
Sugru comes in these little sachets, I had a piece about the size of a pea left over after I'd finished
I used a knife to mold the stuff to a reasonable shape,It's nice and soft so it's easy to push through the hole and form the 'mushroom' on the other side
I left it over night and with a bit of gentle persuasion plopped it out.
A little bit of trimming with a sharp knife and
A couple of lessons learned - I should have left it longer to set, probably 48 hours, as it was still a bit squashy but it's definitely got possibilities.
