Hi Guys. I'm having a problem with a new water pump and wondered if anyone had experienced the same. The seal and bearing on the old one are pretty shot so I've got new one, however unusually the issue I'm having is with the new component. There's a little outlet on the top which is for connecting to the cab heater matrix. The new unit has a little metal lug in it with a square head. I have tried absolutely everything I can think of to get this flippin' thing out and failed.
I'm sure it's meant to come out, the parts manual seems to imply it does. There were no options for different pumps when I bought it. I've used a micrometer to compare the aperture between old and new and they match. My last option is to take it to an engineering firm get it drilled and tapped.
Has anyone experienced this and got any advice? Have I somehow ended up with a dud unit? I'm hoping to go away in my little commer in two weeks time so any advice would be massively appreciated.
P.S. - I know I keep promising, but I will get some pics up soon:I
