Water in petrol

Took Smurf out for a test run before MOT and broke down with fuel starvation, spluttered home after pumping some more petrol through. Pumped some petrol into a jam jar and it was all water so carried on. Eventually pimped out about half a gallon of water, amazed it was working at all.
Glad I had an electric petrol pump. Anyone else had this problem?
Tried to post some pictures to show this but the files are too large...any advice how to do this?

I've heard of it before, rain can get in through the Dodge type filler sometimes. Check the seal on the cap.
You can re-size the pictures using Microsoft Office, right click on the file of the picture you want to change and select - 'Open With' then Microsoft office. There's an option to edit pictures at the top, then go to 'Resize' on the right hand side. type in the size you want in the' Custom Width and Height' boxes - I find 640 x 480 is just right.
To save you the bother in future set your phone or camera to low resolution and all will be well.

Done it, thanks Panky I'll do the rest tomorrow.............
This is quite alot of water really I was surprised!

Horrible looking brew you have there!! Good to hear you made it home, just, running on this concoction. We recently had a situation where water got into one of the storage tanks at a expressway fuel stop in Sydney recently. There were around 30 cars stranded all over the expressway, within an kilometre of where they had filled up. They were all modern cars, even a Ferrari! Were as the Commer spluttered on in your case, all these modern car's computers shut them down at the first sign something wasn't right and they were all stranded.

Glad you got it sorted.
What a horrible gunky mess, first Commer steam engine I've seen;)
When you load up pics from your PC onto the forum select 'Full Size Image' when they have loaded, otherwise you just get the thumbnails.

I've bought a gallon of fuel from the garage and found nearly half of it to be water. I guess that when their tanks get low they start to draw up the condensation from the bottom.
