can any one confirm either way if the original highwayman watertank is the same as pb water tank [?]also fuel tanks,.........well it appears the pb' vary in design...show us your tanks

ok coming from a guy who works at a motorhome dealer this is a bit of a busmans link for me but anyway the fuel tanks are the same throughout from looking at our ci autohome, a highwayman i nearly bought and woolfys pb. but thinking about the vans at work the water tanks vary due to berth so i would think that a highwayman may be the same as an autohome in that its bigger than the van based poptops, although i could be talking through my arris cos we dont actually have an original water tank in ours to compare hope this has caused much more confusion[}][}][}]

Hope these help, having bigger petrol tank where water tank is sounds a great idea, any restrictions over proximity to exhaust possible? don't know the ins' and outs of this, only where the inlets and outlets are.

Run the exhaust thru the water tank and you get hot water

From what I remember very roughly from tank on my first van, would have been similar to Martins' tanks. I did have to crawl around and repair leaky pipe when I first got Martha but we are talking 10 years ago so please don't quote me on it.
Love the idea about the hot water Martin, have heard of water heaters taken from radiator/cooling system but not exhuasts - if your pipes are leaking like mine you could have a jacuzzi

studio are you going into remaking fuel tanks from squashed beer barrels if so what sort of capacities can we expect and can we choose what brewery? i am impressed by your prototype!!! charlies fuel tank is the same as martins and looking at the cage underneath where the water tank should be that is the same as one pictured
sorry me again studio have you had problems with fuel contamination or dirt in carburator cos your fuel takeoff from the tank comes straight of the bottom of tank allowing silt to be sucked thru to carb, also dangerous being that vunerable, dont want to scare you but i wouldnt want it like that, any views anyone??

tank was made before bessie came to me, so beer barrel is by unknown sculptor - runs on mostly pure Spit-fire - but yes I do have intermittent fuel supply problems and am trying to make time to clean it out - nothing too scary in the fuel filter when I cleaned that out so worth investigating where pipe is as possible problem -thanks for the thought

god i thought i was all alone but sumone else is up at stupid o clock on a saturday morning, the feed pipe wants to be at about an inch from the bottom of the tank to stop debris being picked up, i also relooked at the pictures and the feed pipe isnt that vunerable it maybe the grass is long yes i feel stupid
just bumpin' so I can find it again quickly (photos save crawling round in the rain:I)- hoping to take tank off and clean soon as having some uphill struggles with fuel supply. Scary concrete single lane bypass moments with traffic....not good....not good at all:I.
As blockage seems to be re-occurring between fuel pump and tank am guessing it is related to tank fluff & low petrol out-take but hope to find out if it has little length of pipe poking up inside to gain some height and sort one out if it doesn't.
