URGENT!! - Practical Classics Photo shoot

Hi Guys,

Had a call today from the Features Editor of PC magazine...he urgently wants a Commer PB/A panel van for a photo shoot this Friday, the 13th!! The location of the shoot will be The Crich(?) Tramway Village, Matlock, Derbyshire. No doubt you Northerners will know this place very well!? Obviously I thought of Mr.Maltas immediately, but if he or anyone else can help please contact him on tel no. 07 766721604 or his office no. 01733 468233 ASAP. The van only really needs to be roadworthy as he is doing a shoot entitled 'cops and robbers'- sounds really exciting!!?? (Assume the van will be the getaway vehicle with the 'stash' in it!!? or not! who know's?) Anyway, please could someone with a panel van contact him as we don't what to let this opportunity slip if we can. Plus this will keep 'us' in the magazine press. He has assured me expenses will be paid. (They paid me ok when I did my shoot a couple of years back.)

Anyway, let me know if I've missed out anything.
Cheers,
Ray

dont think i can get the slyder ready in time [xx(]

"you were only supposed to blow the bloody SLIDING doors off no.3"

:pi do but its not road worthy, and would cost more to take it there on a flat bed than its worth.[V] but if they want to come to me they can.;)

Fontaine could get there no probs...if they are good on photoshop and can change her autosleeper status to look more crook like!!

if anyone goes MAKE SURE they understand what all your expenses involve, fuel, food etc etc before you go prefarably in writing, also how long you will be expected to be at the location with them.
i had a really bad experience with this magazine, out for 12 hours never even got a penny for fuel after a 240 mile round trip and would never do it again

Hi everyone - Features Editor in question here.

Thanks for putting this up, Ray. I thought I better register after some of the responses.

First off - it would be fantastic if anyone could make it down. We're after any panel van or minibus.

Secondly, I'm really sad to hear that you've had a bad experience, Steve. I can confirm that we would be able to pay ALL food and fuel expenses and that the van owner would be expected to arrive between 9am and 10am until around 3pm.

Thanks again for the responses so far.

M :)

Hi Matt,

Welcome to our forum, good to hear from you:) have enjoyed your previous articles[:X]

Feature sounds very interesting, although panel vans in pretty short supply[V] really hope you find someone.

How 'bout that minibus Martin? - as seen on T.V.;) or Grizz and the coal bus?

Hi Matt

It was good to put a face to a name at last at the NEC last Nov.

When are you going to feature my highly modded Commer http://66.129.69.181/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1382

(or is that more a Max Power job;))

Cheers
Jules

Hi Matt, sorry I can't help personally - does the vehicle need to be a PA/PB or will a Dodge Spacevan fit the bill. Not many of them around either but why not increase the odds of finding something suitable.
