Just got one of these for Kermit (already got one on the J4)

One of the best ways of curing the water loss/overheating issues that plague Commers. The higher 20 psi pressure allows the water to reach higher temps before boiling and going out the overflow as steam [xx(]
And it,s stainless too :p all for less than a tenner [8D]

Just a thought, is there any possible problems with raising the water pressure? Could it speed up failure of seals on the water ump or am I talking rubbish?
Old and corroded rads might burst?
No idea what's on iceman, it was $2 from a local auto super store but it seems to work fine, was well tested when we had the overheating problems :/

No problems, the system will take the extra pressure, so long as everything is in good order, which it should be.The extra pressure helps to stop pockets of steam forming in the engine.
On the Riley it,s 32 psi.

I'm definitely going for the waterless stuff' know someone using it and says it great though expensive at £50 however you never need to change it so guess eventually it pays for itself. Boils at 180 degrees and down to -40 should sort out any overheating. Realise that you can be disguising another issue but you can still see if the temp gauge is getting just but won't get the pressure that blows off pipes and can damage gaskets. Tends to run generally a bit cooler too and won't create rust. I think in a commer that can just run a little hot due to design it would be a big help especially on hot days. Gets very good reviews from what can tell. One warning though it is flammable and very slippery so worth making sure all your plumbing is up to scratch.

I don't work for them btw but after reading that I think I should :)

Was wanting to line the engine bay so was thinking to try a few tricks for piece of mind, but think your right Panky I need to get it first and fit an interior and stop getting carried away. Just excited :)

I know - your mind races ahead thinking about all the things you want to do:) If you're thinking about lining the engine bay to dampen engine noise it may be worthwhile covering the wheel arches and engine lid on the outside instead. I know Colin and Helen used an adhesive backed dense foam on their old camper and on their new one as well. By all accounts it works very well and something I'll be looking into myself, it seems very moldable and covers all the curves and recesses well.

I have both - Jule's gear in the engine bay and fake lead flashing on the panels to stop the druming
