The rolling resto of my 1971 commer pb auto sleeper is in some form of progress,I fixed the brakes and fitted one new tyre (was a bargin £19.00) It is no longer scarey to drive.:D The body roll takes a lot to get used to and the lack of acceleration is embarrassing. I did manage to get the overdrive to work (gearbox needed oil). I went out and bought a roll of gaffer tape and filled up all the holes. (I did use all the tape). I will post some pics when I get them. The engine is a bit (or very) knocky depending on who is listening, but i figure it is a 1950's perkins diesal engine.

Good to hear from you again Dan and brilliant to find another still on the road. You do need to plan your progress a bit more when driving a Commer, even the petrol ones. I found there is absolutely no point in revving the conkers off the engine but to to change up fairly early and let the engine torque do the work, I hardly ever used 1st. Sounds like the ebay description was a bit flattering but at least the gaffer tape won't rust ;), just as long as it isn't holding anything structural together [:0]. Keep us posted on progress, we like to talk :D
