Under floor storage

I've removed the original large watertank on my autosleeper.
There is a lot of room where it ones was.
I was thinking of maybe boxing it up and make the lower panel hinged (the panel which contains the jack holes) so I can acces it and use it as storage room for e.g. seats, the awning etc.
Anyone done this before?

I believe the pickup vans had tool boxes under the floor. Shouldn't be too hard to do, and would be pretty useful - I did think of doing it myself, but haven't got round to it yet!

A Pick-up has a raised cargo floor with storage between "our" camper floor and the pickup floor.

I'm pretty sure I've seen one, where the skirts were on hinges, and there was the spare tyre and tools in it, in "cupboards" about 12" high. Ring any bells with anyone on here?

I made a bracket to store the jack under the van, as the wardrobe which I believe is the standard auto sleeper location, seemed a silly and wasteful place. I have retained the water tank (and use it every trip) but do plan on locating a small toolbox underneath when I get time

The only one I can think of was Dozer's V6, he had a hinged flap to access the gas bottle.
