Tyres

Thats what has happened to Skye's and Dozer said she should have failed the MOT with tyres like that.[:0][:0][:0]

commerchris i am dissapointed in you with your vast and growing mechanical knowledge and encyclopedic better half that you are recommending kwikfit to anyone especially to a woman! no offence to woman but i have had so many lady friends and relatives ripped off by them its getting beyond a joke!!

I don't personally go to kwik fit I have frequentented many a stappletons though ;)if you get a good one they are both ok [^]last time I went to one they were a bit to busy I was not impressed with the way Ran was being treated so I made an excuse to leave & said I would make an appointed & come back(but didn't)I can reccomend one of the branches previously used hitchin stappletons one young man really likes old campers & you can go with him watch him work & get a bloody good look under the van :D[^]:D

Does Skye desire 14" or 15" tyres, and also what section width, profile and ply rating should they be?

The reason I ask all this is that I have quite a lot of 14 inch tyres lurking about which should mostly have some life left in them, subject to the usual caveats about being well advised to not use old tyres, regardless of how much tread they have left. I don't have anything on the fleet which uses 14 inch tyres and so they just hang about getting older.

Some of these are probably car types, e.g. Rover P6, Granada, etc. but I may also have some van ones and those will have been stored in the dark during my ownership, rather than just being left lying about outside.

Martin is due down here in December to rescue the Telecom van so should be able to have a quick look at my various tyre offerings on the same occasion and pronounce on their suitability for Commer 15/25 cwt applications.

I dread to think what Harvey's tyres will be like. They were fairly new when he was laid up but the wheels haven't turned for about six or seven years and two have gone nearly flat [xx(]

Erm....[:0] I don't know what size tyres Skye has. Dozer does though:D:D. Im sure he will be able to tell me. If the ones you have are good enough and are the right size then we may be able to do a deal. [^][^]

Thanks very much Rootesgroup :D:D

If Kwikfit cant help you, you could always try 'Slo fit'....there are several branches in Cornwall....

Gotta love the name eh!...
