Hi All,

Haven't been about much recently, but the van is finally back on the road after an engine re-grind/re-build/re-everything, and through an MOT last week. All that's left to do (for now at least!) is to replace the tyres, which was an advisory on the MOT. I tried a mobile guy who my buddy's used before, but he had trouble sourcing them (165-15's - is that right?), and asked if there were any other ones that could be used on it, or if there were any suppliers of the 165-15's that I knew of. Anyone able to help me out? I am pretty near to a few Kwik-Fit's, but would rather only use them as a last resort really.

No one got any tips? Have tried a few places online, and also Kwik-Fit, but best load rating that can be had is 86 or 87. Would guess this is ok as long as the load is kept on the light side eh?

165's seem a bit slim, dunno about everybody else but i had 185's on mine.Cant see you having problems getting them with the correct ply rating really. :)
 
why not try something like 185/70/15, should be more to choose from :)

185cm wide, the height/profile is 70 0/0 of the width, on a 15" diameter , clear as mud [?]

the load index is the weight the tyre will carry, higher the no. the more weight it will carry. numbers between 50-100.
with all this knowledge you could become a senior kwik-fit fitter, something to strive for chas ;):D

You would normally only find 165 with a van tread/construction. (I know it is a van, but I think van tread tyres arent ideal for Commers)

Thanks for all the replies folks. The hunt continues :)

Last question (ok, not really last question, but you know...) - will it take 185/80/15's? Don't seem to be able to find 185's with a lower profile than 80's, but am worried the clearance might not be there with them?
