I haven't read all of that thread but it seems to repeat the same for and against arguments I've heard for the past few years. There are a lot of people who A-frame small cars behind motorhomes and campers with no safety issues. I'm going to go ahead with my plans for an A-frame unless and until there is some definitive legislation against it.

perhaps it is worth telling the insurance company that you intend to use one so at least they don't try to wriggle out of a claim should the need arise.
