Timing

The slow running jet is blocked [xx(] It's a big brass screw on the drivers side of the carb. Take it out and blow thru' it, don't poke anything down it ;)

If you haven't already, make sure you put a decent fuel filter somewhere in the fuel line to help prevent jet blockages.

cheers Martin. Was gonna give you a ring about it. Don't need ro now. Whats the basic setting for it? All way in then full turn back?

I sorted my garage into 4 piles of stuff.
1. Stuff I`m keeping
2. Stuff I`m not getting rid of.
3. Stuff I might use..one day.
4. Stuff that might come in handy.
 
Screw it in and count the turns before you take it out, usually a turn and a quarter / turn and a half out.

Thats not the slow running jet, it's the mixture screw. The jet is to the right, higher up ;)

I remember that jet, Martin, and your guidance over the phone when I was sitting somewhere in Norfolk with the hood up on my way to Harwich, very anxious to miss the ferry to Denmark. I had to remove and clean the jet several times on my journey through East Anglia and all through Denmark.
 
got to do it all again tonight with an old points style dizzy due to the electronic one being burnt out [:(!]
