When I pulled the gearbox out of my van many years ago , it had a bearing thrust bearing . All other rootes cars I have worked on were carbon , was this standard . Also I have tried with no luck on the site to contact Martin as I need some panels , is there a way to send him an email ??

Clutch thirst bearings were replaced by carbon ones at some point. The bearing are better Martin has told me providing they work ok. I think Martin has finished up/retired. He may stil be making some panels. I’ll send you a DM with the contact details I have for him.

The carbon thrust can be replaced with a ball race version from an MGB and they work perfectly. A little filing of the carrier fork is needed but only minimal.
