Spotted this on ebay, the Russian version of a Commer [:0]

cool! does it share mechanicals or just look the same?

The reason I ask is morris minor side valve engines were used for some UK tanks for are a great source of army surpless spares!

yep it was, along with RR meteor engine (unsupercharged merlin)

looks like a UAZ. has a 2.5 litre 4-pot volga petrol engine, 4 wheel drive. serious bit of kit, built on a russian jeep chassis. they are actually a wee bit quicker than a commer
 
on the subject of russian vehicles, not far from martin in the village of Huby lies a rare russian Moskvich 1973 it is a conversion from van to estate, very rare indeed,its been stood in the garage since about 1974
