I know it's that time of year but it's occurred to me from posts on the forum that the amount of energy going into our various Commer projects seems to be at an all time high, since we signed up almost 2 years ago [:0] now. Inspirational stuff to be found everywhere, ranging from useful modifications to full on projects [8D].

My Commer ambitions are still some way from my own ability and confidence but these are growing all the time, mostly thanks to the various tips and generous assistance received from other forum members. I do shudder to think where we'd be with our Commer without the use of this forum providing access to such a wealth of talent and experience.

Although it's sad to see some owners having to sell up, there is the flipside that decent Commers are still selling in the current climate and their new owners then joining us. Infact it's just possible that demand is now outstipping supply.

Overall the Commer-unity appears to me to be in an improving and very healthy state - long may it continue !

Surely a great time to be a Commer owner [8D]

I started this 4 years ago having bought the van and there being no info online and the payback is immense; who would have thought that by doing what I can do well my van(s) would improve so much?!
 
I am sure there will be plenty more commer activity too :p
I bet no end have been saved from being scrapped since this forum has promoted every thing commer,woolfy's panel's & martins spares,camper hire & restorations to mention a few.....not to mention miles of smiles while driving past the general public ....priceless :D

I've been restoring Commer/Karrier commercials and Hillmans for the past 10-15 years and there is nothing else like this on the net for us Commer fans. I've only known of the forum for a couple of months but it great be able to participate in things 'commer' with other enthusiasts.

There seems to be a great atmosphere within the forum and the chat is both helpful and fun.

I think on the subject of people having to sell their commers, it is unfortunate but there are many like myself out there who are looking for commer vans to restore, run and enjoy. In my opinion if you can save a commer then great but if you can use it even better!

We don't mind why or how you do it, just put them back on the road, for others to appreciate :p

This place re-vitalised my interest in Commers, before CVF there was no focus- no connection. I have got to admit I was on the verge of going darkside because there just didn't seem to be a hope of meeting folk as mad as me - the DS seemed to be having all the fun - but how wrong I was. We have got a community and Commer-radery the biggest of the clubs and forums could only dream of and the great thing is we are still new, we have got so much further to go but we will never loose that spark because basically we are unique - thanks Mr Field - we owe you one [^]

Everyone is so great and friendly, and know that any question will always be answered not matter how silly it may be lol

nope ... I was welding and it starting hailing. Saying that I'm sure its another of those curiously scotch things that I haven't got hte hang of yet.

I had my head in the front wheel arch at the time so it was a very strange sensation of my legs getting beadblasted while I was concentrating on the welding!
