The death of a Hi-Tor, PDV 195M, unfortunately rotten as a pear

Found up these old pics from 2008 - I salvaged the roof, side windows and cupboard doors (the front panel went to save another Commer) from Damo who recovered the van originally but found it too far gone.

Update from the TorCars register ;
"Date received at Torcars 24/3/74, 16th HiTor, Date started 13/5/74, converted by Thompson / Meredith, Date completed 17/5/74. Was works demo vehicle. Last taxed Oct 1997."

Apparently it was so rotten that they were stopped by VOSA on the way home and issued with a PV9 for the Commer ...

"All of the chassis outriggers were gone as was the rear 6 feet of the chassis, the dreaded rust worms had also eaten the floor the full length of both sides and the rear of the engine bay."
