Tank sender 2

I recently fitted a new fuel tank, but now the gauge just flicks across to the full mark. As with current fuel prices this is never the case could somebody explain why this is happening

I thought of the earth issue myself, its one of commerchris's super ally tanks, with the sender on the top of the tank. I connected the provided wire to the vans existing wire, but i wonder if the top of the sender unit is touching the underside of the floorpan.

The sender does sit very close to the floor, so it could well be touching. Give the floor a little dent with a hammer and punch from underneath. Or put some washers under the tank mounts to lower it a couple of mm . Check all the wires too
