Hi all has anyone changed the steering wheel on there bus and if do what would fit on with a bit more bulk ...

an avenger steering wheel fits straight on

the other option is if you pick up an avenger or talbot sunbeam mountney steering wheel boss kit you can fit any mountney wheel.

If you ask me nicely I might even be able to sort you the part number out for the mountney boss kit

If you cant find one, a mk1 escort one can be made to fit.You'll need to machine off about 1cm from the bottom of the boss outer cylinder, so it will clear the plastic steering column surround and also file the indicator self-canceling keyway to suit.Ive got a steel early transit one here if tim can caniblise your original wheel and weld the spline section in[?][?]

lol I havent tried a mk1 escort one but ive read they share the same splines,should be able to find one easier with all the ford fans about but may pay a bit of scene tax on top of the price

I've used the boss kit that was a ford cortina, fairly sure that one from a Capri or Anglian will also fit. The later 'talbot' - samba and alike don't fit, nether will anything from a mini. One from a sunbeam alpine / alpine / rapier will also fit - but these aren't very 'bulky'.

If buying wheel and boss kit separately beware there are a few different steering wheel pcds out there...
