Macker and me met Paul at the Cholmondeley Castle show today and he was a real enthusiast doing his best to promote Classic Camping, it would be great if a couple of our throng could represent our forum at this event :I
We also met the guy who bought the Chester Tourstar a couple of weeks ago and he was keen to check us out, many questions forthcoming on engine swaps (currently running a 1500) so hopefully we will hear from him soon.

Don't bully us who run the 1500 spec, Panky! [:(!] It may be a simple form of progress, but power has to be balanced with the handling qualities (which means that a 600ccm 2CV engine would have been adequate enough..) :D

Bully - me, I'd rather rip my hair out:I
The guy was explaining that the van had originally been fitted with a 1725 but now, for some reason, it had a 1500 and after his experience on hills he was up for the idea of a bit more oomph on the inclines. Well he would wouldn't he - 1500 - ha ha ha ha ha ;)

First reading your "56 bhp" as "56 mph", I can inform you that I had problems enough reaching 40mph when I moved my Bluebird (after purchase) from Manchester to deepest Lancashire. Which meant the drive took about three hours.. [xx(] So from now on all speeds in excess of 40mph will give me a feeling of luxury, I'm sure :D
