Does anybody have an e mail address for Speedy ,it does not come up on their site .I need new oil pressure relief valve for either the 1600 or 1725

These could be available locally, found these on the Hillman Car Club of SA website. This is takes you to their links page, covers local and overseas suppliers of Hillman/Rootes parts http://www.sa.hillman.org.au/Links.htm#parts
Here are a couple from there

Auto Spares Galore (incorporating Hillman Spares and Repairs) 924 Burwood Highway, Ferntree Gully, Victoria 3156, Australia. Phone (03) 9758 3644. Fax (03) 9758 9835.

Cheers and good luck, Stephen

My understanding is that 1600 relief valve is better one. I've had both engines when I drove Minx models.
Again IIRC when 1725 was launched in Sept 1965, there were oil pressure issue complaints from owners particularly at hot engine tickover and Rootes bulletin to dealers was to fit 1600 one instead . That it seems gave better pressure on gauge readings both at tickover and at say 50mph. The Series 6 I ran supposedly had this conversion according to original motor engineer owner and still had good pressure at over 100K miles.

That is interesting as I have noticed low tickover on late cars ,but at this stage I will take what ever new one I can get ,Martin is sending me 2
