Speedy’s stock ?

Forgive me if it’s been discussed but does anyone know what happened with speedy’s stock as anyone brought it ?

I understand the Hillman Imp stuff went to the Imp club but no idea where anything else went sorry.

Hopefully they will turn up !, in hindsight we could have asked them what their intentions were for the stock ?. Another sad point is their suppliers / manufacturers contacts have effectively gone as well if they didn’t share when they closed !!.

I emailed Forest Custom Classics and they have bought some of Speedy’s stock. It’s not all sorted out yet but some is online here: http://www.forestcustom.co.uk/shop

Or try:
Forest Custom & Classics Ltd
Unit 113, Lydney Industrial Estate, Harbour Road, Lydney GL15 4EJ

Other assorted parts have gone to Rootes Parts in Holland. They are still sorting them out apparently.

Thanks n well done finding that out for us all , I hadn’t heard of them before so wouldn’t have known

The bad news is that the price has jumped up a lot on some items I have seen. Cast iron head camshafts were £65 +Vat or so at Speedy’s demise. They are listed on FCC at about £240. But at least they are available.

Blimey that’s quite a mark up especially considering they possibly got everything for a very good price.

Would it be worth putting there details on the parts dealers page ?
Hi all..

I’m also new and about to buy a commer van.
Where is the dealers page?
Should I be worried about finding parts in the future?
Thanks for letting me into this group?

Some Parts can be difficult to find but not impossible and I think looking/searching for them is part of the hobby, I’ve heard Martin is going to start making the repair panels again which will be really useful, also a lot of the mechanical parts are the same on other vehicles as the commer. The best help I got was from this group there’s all the knowledge you will need !, good luck with your project

Hi and welcome Tony :)
As Neil T says it can be a bit of a challenge tracking down what you need but service parts are easy to come by, unfortunately there's no one stop shop for other parts. We can help to direct you to most things as there are many suppliers that don't deal specifically with Commers but may have what we need on the shelf. I find I can track down most bits I need on Ebay after a bit of searching.
Now tell us about the van you're planning to buy:cool:
