While Jim was up in the air I thought I would just pop in a overdrive gear box. I had spare one that I bought for Gladys so why not.
So I had the prop shaft shorten new clutch plate from Mr M, dropped the old one out lifted the new one in connected a few wires and before you know it Jim has a working overdrive.
To solve the snakeskin issue I bought a coating kit from frosts to line ghe inside of the tank, after filling it with gravel, fluids, wrapping in a quilt and leaving it in a cement mixer for hours... Ah.... Memories
I put his batteries on charge last night and checked the oil & water this morning. The second push of the button he spring into life.
So I give him a quick check over and everything seems fine, then washed him and he is ready now for lots of camping.
Going to find a local camp site and get away for the bank holiday weekend.
