Had a text from Colin earlier, big panic - picked Surf up and no brakes[:0] The reservoir was empty but no sign of a leak anywhere so with the help of a friend they bled the system and all seemed OK.
Off to Tesco for supplies and was greeted with a pool of fluid under the front of the van - it turned out to be the hose clip rotted through on the top of the master cylinder on the pipe from the reservoir.
A new clip fitted and all fixed now - phew[^]

Had exactly the same problem on dodgeyslyder [xx(]
check those hoseclips folks [}:)]

The steel pipe on Harvey had rotted through so I replaced the lot with a length of hydraulic hose:I

Thanks for posting that Panky. as you all know I made it all 288 miles there and all 288 miles home without a single hiccup....cool eh!
