sleeping berths in '69 Highwayman

(s0rry - still unable to get into the forum from home and post photos; I do have a bunch to share if I ever get access)

My '69 Highwayman currently has a slide out bench that makes roughly a double bed for two; I'm a bit surprized there aren't more sleeping berths. It has been renovated, but from what I can see, the woodwork is original, so it's hard to tell what has been removed/ omitted with the rebuild.

Can anyone share photos of what original bunks/ beds would have been inside?
 
It depends on how it was originally converted - it may have just been a two berth from new.

From what I recall, a 69 Highwayman will have had a minimum of four berths. Two would be created by making a double across the van using the table and two from the long side bench which pulls out to form a double (or left as it is to make a single). In addition, there was an option for one or two bunks which fit across the van. These require additional brackets which fit in front of the side windows.

I can see mine has been changed a bit - I have two cupboards at the rear, and drawers on the long bench side, which completely changes the sleeping options.

At some point the countertop was extended, so the seat immediately behind the driver is narrower, and is lacking the double fold / gaucho cushion to make a complete mattress. I'm looking into remedying that - if it's just me, I fit very happily across the width and appreciate the floor space down the centre.

Anyone have info ab0ut the bunk brackets? Images and weight ratings?

You need to get to a few meets and see what every one else has done, vans are altered to owners own requirements over the years and yours is no different, time to put your mark on it:)
