Hi All,[8D]I posted a pic of a van i spotted on a farm a few weeks back,
Well i got in touch with the owner and he turned out to be quite a character. He has many unique vehicles on his property including a number of Commer Knockers "TS3 Trucks".
He is a bit of Commer enthusiast albeit for the trucks more than the vans and i was soon listening to the rumble of the TS3,s engine he owned and still operated.
He also showed me a number of buses incl an American Greyhound Clipper Coach that used to cross Aust and still runs great, as well as some very rare Bougward German cars.
A great time was had exploring his property and i am sure a new friendship kindled.
Anyway, He allowed me to take home "Romeo" a Commer 2500 made in Luton and exported to Australia in the 60's and converted to a tilt top camper in Sydney. Today unfortunately Romeo has a seized motor with broken cam shaft, cracked diff crown wheel and more rot than the Titanic although he may not look that bad in the pics, he has been left outside for twenty years[xx(] with the doors open and is too far gone to restore. But he has plenty of parts parts parts.
So at least he will make a great donor before that final trip to the crusher.
It is sad to see him now
as his conversion was very well done and i am sure many a romantic vacation was had.
